Wide Diversity of Seeds and Varieties
At the moment, seed offerings are small. I am not a corporate/large-scale seed company. This important art of seed saving is my passion and hobby. The flux of seasons and climate will judge what seeds are made available each year. The goal is to increase the variety of listings yearly!
Seed Purchase Policy
Due to the expenses involved and customs regulations, we cannot take and fill orders for Canadian customers or any foreign orders for the 2025-2026 season. Please contact us if you have questions.
By purchasing our seeds, you are respectfully accepting these terms and conditions!
For your security and protection, VISA, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and PayPal are accepted for online purchases. Please use a valid email address and phone number. They will only be used to help process this order and are required to help prevent fraud.
PRICES
I do my best to offer seeds at affordable prices. I am sure there are discount racks with seeds, but you must consider the variety, weight, storage conditions, and germination before buying. An additional factor is to consider who you want to support with your purchasing dollars. Your purchases and support of me and The Divine Botanist directly fund my heirloom seed and plant variety preservation work and breeding work, creating open-pollinated and readily available varieties. All items are subject to availability, and pricing may change.
Ingredients for crafts, art, and teas/goods are factored into the sale price. In the end, a goal is a small profit margin to sustain my seed saving practices and stewardship. Labor to craft and make the products is also taken into consideration price wise and some ingredients/herbs are more costly than others.
NOTE: For varieties offered by other breeders with whom we have agreements, a portion of seed sales is paid to them as royalties for their breeding work. These seeds will often be slightly more pricey as we split profits with our breeders 50/50.
I generally fill and mail orders within two to four (2-4) business days. During busy periods and harvest season, alongside my full-time job and higher education program, the time between receiving an order and mailing it can take seven to ten business days or longer. Notices will be posted on the website, conveying any necessary shipping notices.
Orders sent to U.S. addresses typically take between two and ten days. Please consider all of this information before placing a last-minute order.
DELAYS IN DELIVERY
I and The Divine Botanist are not responsible for loss or damage caused by delivery delays caused by strikes, acts of war, fire, casualties, etc. It is also not my or The Divine Botanist’s responsibility for delays or issues with your order and delivery after it leaves my hands. This is a matter of the United States Postal Service (USPS) and not my own.
SHIPPING FEES
We do not hide shipping costs to keep the packet prices as low as possible. The cost of filling a mail order is not simply a matter of placing postage stamps on an envelope. For the safety of the seeds, we only ship in padded packaging so that they survive the rollers of the USPS's sorting machinery. Although we do not attempt to "make money" on shipping and handling, we do try to recoup some of the costs. Postage in the last couple of years has also skyrocketed and seems to increase annually.
Along with the apparent cost of postage, there are:
-
Merchant fees to process card payments. Card processing companies charge a flat fee per order plus fees based on card type and type of transaction on top of the fees they collect for your credit card issuer.
-
Packing Materials - Padded envelopes, forms, labels, etc.
-
If these costs weren’t covered, we wouldn't be in business very long, and our seed variety preservation work would be at risk.
We ship packages using the U. S. Postal Service (USPS) using their Delivery Confirmation service. Please be sure to provide a valid USPS-qualified address. Your seeds will be shipped out as promptly as possible. I live a busy life working a full-time job, so I will try to get orders mailed by every Friday unless you request express shipping. Please remember that after I turn over your order to the USPS system, I am not responsible for damages or it being lost or confiscated.
SEED PACKAGING
My seeds will be packaged in small coin envelopes, as this is a personal hobby, and I am not a commercial seed company or grower. These are grown in small, well-tended, and carefully managed plots. Seed labels will be found on every envelope and meet Federal Seed Laws and the state of Kentucky’s. Smaller seeds will be placed in mini baggies and inside their envelopes with the label.
REFUNDS/RETURNS
All sales are final. If you have an issue with your seeds or products, please reach out so we can find a proper solution.
